G0SXC's 10-metre antenna |
MW0CRI, David in Cardigan, did well, but why only Monday? Day off work maybe. Nice tower/mast though, wonder how he got planning permission for that?
G0SXC came out a clear winner on Sunday. But again why only Sunday. And just look at this for a Ten Metre antenna. 21.4m boom (70ft)!! on a 3.2 hectare (8 acres) plot, so I guess he’s got the space and few neighbours'
The other Dave, VK5MRD, sent in several reports because of a problem with the editor’s computer.
Friday, he worked 9W2DRL 3/3, heard 28.226 Bcn KH6 BCN, VK9ZLH/3 5/9+30 said “Once again great Sporadic E conditions around VK with too many VK stations to list from VKs 1,2,3,4,6,7,8. Thursday Night after a few CQ calls I did hear a "VU" station trying to come back to my call but I could not pull him in due to a high QRN level. Same night also worked 9W2DRL but conditions were really difficult with high QRN and deep QSB. It sucks being back at work! I know I am missing out on some 10m DX!”
Just be glad you don’t live here it’s really quiet!
Contests: This weekend is the 10-10 International Winter QSO Party. (Why is it’s a “Party”? It’s just a contest under another name) Saturday 00:00 to Sunday 24:00. There are a few sundry other contests (parties).
Sun: Blank again. But asteroid 2007 TU24 is flying past Earth today. Not too close, well out side the moons orbit. Visible in amateur telescopes though.
