Tony's 10 Metre Band Report
15 April, 2009
Conditions were so poor during the week I had to resort to lowering the inclusion level to two or more contacts. Things did buck up at the weekend though with PY2WC and PY2XC and PY2CX seeming in some sort of private contest. VK9GMW (Mellish Reef DXpedition) is favourite DX of the week.
Most popular DX

Monday: LW9DNK, WP4NND, T88CW, DG1BHA, EA3NT.

(Now changed to 3 or more contacts)
Saturday: PY2WC, PY2XC, KD4ESV, PY2CX, YV5MM, F8AOF, IZ6GSQ, LW9DNK, PU2LEP, YY2CQD, YY5LI, CT2GQN, IK0TUM, IZ0EYP/, IZ0EYP/8, IZ4DTZ, PU2KLM, PY2HAM, UA6GZ, VK4CQ, WP4NND, CE1UGE, CE2WZ, EA8OB, KH2/JF2QNM, LW1HDI, OA4AI, OA4DKI, PU2WDX, ZP4KFX, KP3FT/B, LU3HFA/B. (I guess some folk didn’t get Chris’, IZ0EYPs “/8”, that’s why he/she has 2 entries. As a single entry he/she would be higher in the list. And Chris could be either gender in English, so there!)
Sunday: VK9GMW, KH0O, ZS6JPY, V51AS, DU1EV, XU7MDY, V73NS, RZ9OO, MI0JZZ, LU2MCA, IT9AUG, EB1DJ, EA1ET, BD4CZX, ZS6DN, ZS4U, ZP6CW, PY2XC, EA1UY, 9W2LLK, JH7RTQ, RX4HZ, RO9O, KD4ESV, VK4FTDX, PU4ISA, PA3GSM, M0VPE, LU1MPK, JA6WJL, EA3DTD, UA6LV, PU2KLM, JA2TBS, BG5ROK.
Apologies to anyone who sent in reports for the weeks I was away in Hong Kong. I can’t really use them now but thanks go to indefatigable Dave, VK5MRD, Myrton, N1GKE, Graham, WE5I and last but not least DM6HK, Horst (Ausiman1) (and before anyone asks I have no idea why Ausiman1)

Stations worked were:- Only VK8HW at Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. VK8HW Charlie at a distance of 2616.4km was 5/9+20db and we even went to AM and he was still 20dB over 9 am AM. Amazing, pity there were no other stations around to work
Welcome to Ian, M0CJY who worked GI4SNA/8 and IK1JPV/9. He says, “I’m in Rotherham, South Yorkshire IO93IK using a Sirio 3 element Yagi & a Yaesu FT857D with 100 watts.”
Nothing wrong with being in Rotherham, I’m from north of Watford myself, although I now live slightly south east of Watford.
David, CE2WZ worked loads of stuff. IT9WTY, IZ0EYP/8, IZ4DTZ, IT9FGA, IK8OXQ, EA4FLY, IW8QIH, IK8LJA, IZ8GCE, IZ5JMZ, I5ECW, CN8KD, IZ5ILF, SV2HRT, I5ZSS, IK5FQY, IZ0IWC, F4FBB, EA3IM, F5JJW, IK0TUM, IW0BCF, IW8EDA, IZ8EKL, EA2DDG. Its that exotic callsign. Lots of Europeans in there. “Hi Tony - just one day working 10 metres - good into southern Europe. 73s David”
Good stuff. David has had problems getting reports to me. I will pass on his received server error messages to the editor who will sort it out pronto.

Sun: Nothing much is happening with the sun at the moment, no sunspots, very slow CME events, nada.
Stoke City FC have clawed their way up the premiership table to a lofty 13th place (out of 20). We’re not safe yet but avoiding the drop is our own hands.
Here are two cute photos of my granddaughter Carmen and grandson Victor.
She’s the one asleep.
He’s the one with the ice cream
