Horst first

Now Tim
“I really enjoyed the 10m opening today with Sporadic E with most of Europe in 3 hours contacts were logged with 140 stations from France, Germany to Russia where I worked a Cosmonaut (Astronaut) Alexander Volkov U4MIR I am sure that is my first QSO with an Astronaut so I feel very pleased to meet you Alex'. I was also called by JQ9DHC in Japan, but I was not able to complete the QSO as QSB was very fast. So Japan on 10m great! Thank you to all of you that I worked today.

The Sporadic E was also strong enough to work GM7TUD Jim on back scatter signals while testing the direct path turning the beam to Scotland signal was 0. Jim great to catch up after such a long time!”

Upcoming activity (though not guaranteed to be on 10m). Information from DXwatch.com and 425DXnews. I’m now listing the stations from when the become active (if known)

Sun: Blank. Enough said! The Perseids were a none event. Far to over-cast for us to see anything.

However Valencia was great.
We got to walk around most of the circuit and in fact the bus to the beach went round part of the track.

Now my daughter (the youngest one) tells me that it is sealed off but there are now lots of posh expensive bars on the periphery (who would have thought that??)

Here are a couple of photos of the circuit.

A couple of BMWs out for a spin.

The rotating bridge set at right angles to the road so no one could take a spin all the way round. (hope they remember to rotate it in line for the race)

Here are a couple of links to more still photos from the holiday and some videos (some F1, some not).
