Tony's 10 Metre Band Report
29 November, 2007

A most dull week. Lots of stations making single contacts, plenty of PYs. Some CO8s although only CO8LY made the real trip. The contest did not spin off many voice contacts, quite easily the vast majority of activity was on CW.
So, although it’s not my favourite mode, I’ve put in a special CW section.

Most popular DX on voice (SSB, AM, FM) 3 or more contacts.

Monday: PY2ZY, 9Z4GFB, PY2SRB, PU1NOA.

Contests: Nothing much this weekend. Upcoming we have the ARRL 10m contest on the 8th and 9th when I will be travelling to Hong Kong, so I’ll maybe miss it. Shame, because I have permission to operate as VH2/G4CJC.

Carl, VH2LH, will operate a special call VH2CB (his initials). I will hopefully get out to see his place during the week I’m there but may not make it for the contest. We’ll see. Incidentally congratulations to Carl and his wife who have recently taken delivery of a new daughter, Carla.

Sun: Blankity blank. Comet Holmes can still be seen (so I’ve read) with a modest pair of bins. So those of you who haven’t seen it get looking.

G4TUT is recharging his batteries and threatens to be on the air soon. But we’ve heard it all before. And me, I bought a Creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro sound card for use with a Software Defined Radio. Great spec. but needs special cables and an I/O hub which I can’t get as of yet! Anyone got a spare?
