Another woeful week except for Sunday when the 10m Sun came out to shine.
MW0CND seems to have been active a large part of the week with others, but I suppose Top Dog goes to HC8N (Galapagos Is. – Ecuador)

Paul, K6FRC casts doubt on the worth of the new (alleged) sun spot cycle. He says
“Hi Tony. Despite this alleged 'sunspot' popping up, 10 meters remains dead quiet on the West coast of the US. I have 4 beacons on the air pounding away calling for anyone, but alas, their calls go unheard. So, I ask- If a beacon sends its callsign in the bottom of the cycle, does it make RF?”
No, but for all the use you’re getting out of them they might just be at the bottom of a well. Still you have to keep trying. I’m a traitor this week, I QSYed to 2m!
Contests: Oceania DX Contest 08:00 Saturday to 08:00 Sunday (Phone only). Sunday 0700 – 1900 is the RSGB 21/28 MHz Contest (CW+SSB). There are the usual sprint/party contests. Friday 10th is 00:00 to 24:00 is the 10-10 International Day Sprint.
Sun: Two new “proto” sunspots have appeared. One is certainly from the new cycle but the other may be from the old cycle. This is noted from the magnetic orientation of the sunspot.
So we lost the Chelsea game but we were not disgraced. They were not the all star boys we thought they might be. Portsmouth next then Spurs at home. Nothing is ever certain in football (Arsenal lose to Hull at the Emirates!!) but we must fancy 6 points here.
