Big showing by Australia for ILLW

Well done to all 50 VK amateurs who entered this year's event via the official web site entry form at http://illw.net

Australia led the Country count at 50 lighthouses.

Some highlights included:-

The 400 barrier has also been broken this year with the 400th entry going to the Bundaberg ARC with their entry for Burnett Heads.

WIN television attended Point Perpendicular where the Illawarra club spent the weekend.

An excellent weekend was had by all at lighthouses manned by Summerland club, Cape Byron, Ballina, Evans Head and Yamba.

Westlakes Lighthouse event saw Alan VK2JED and Frank VK2FJL spending the later part of Friday stringing the antenna and setting up the station. But by the third time climbing to the top of the tower both Allan and Frank needed oxygen! Thanks go to Lighthouse attendants Ron and Terry who noticed their plight and revived them with a nice hot cup of coffee.
