Monitoring
Monthly magazine mentioned on BBC Radio 4
The Radio and Communications magazine Monitoring Monthly
got a mention on the BBC Radio 4 News Quiz programme on Friday 19th January.
One of the news clips that was read out appeared in Monitoring Monthly
last year.
It highlighted the EMC issues that can arise between wireless remote
control devices where the regulator has failed to adequately define the
receiver characteristics and modulation schemes.
The programme can be heard via the web on the BBC Listen Again service

RealPlayer)
The relevent clip occurs at 26min 14 secs into the programme.
Radio Amateurs are well aware of the problems that have been caused by
the ill-considered use of 433 MHz for licence exempt devices. It is to
be hoped that this allocation will be phased out in favour of the superior
864 MHz band.
