Finland gets access to 70 MHz

Radio Amateurs in Finland are now allowed to operate in the 70 MHz band.

Amateurs in Finland, as well as the seperate DXCC entities of Aaland Island and Market Reef, can now operate in 70.000-70.175 MHz and 70.225-70.300 MHz.

A report on the Four Metres web site by OZ2M says that

- Transmission is not permitted within Lieksa, Ilomantsi, Joensuu, Kontiolahti, Polvijärvi, Juuka, Nurmes, Valtimo, Kuhmo, Hyrynsalmi, Suomussalmi, Ristijärvi and Sotkamo municipalities

- transmissions within 50 km of the Russian border are only permitted with the antenna main loop pointing away from 0°-180°

- maximum transmission power is limited to 25 W within 50 km of the Norwegian border
