Interference from Gigabit Mains Ethernet adaptors

A posting on the UKQRM list has raised concerns about interference from Gigabit mains Ethernet adaptors to the VHF Amateur and Amateur Satellite service allocations.

The Belkin 'Gigabit' Powerline transmits a broadband signal down the household mains that extends from 50-300 MHz.

The report on UKQRM indicated that it may not have any notching enabled in key parts of the spectrum such as 50-54, 70.0-70.5, 144-148 MHz and the US 222-225 MHz band and could result in significant interference to the Amateur and Amateur Satellite services.
