Interference from Gigabit Mains Ethernet adaptorsA posting on the UKQRM list has raised concerns about interference from Gigabit mains Ethernet adaptors to the VHF Amateur and Amateur Satellite service allocations. The Belkin 'Gigabit' Powerline transmits a broadband signal down the household mains that extends from 50-300 MHz. The report on UKQRM indicated that it may not have any notching enabled in key parts of the spectrum such as 50-54, 70.0-70.5, 144-148 MHz and the US 222-225 MHz band and could result in significant interference to the Amateur and Amateur Satellite services. The UKQRM group is opposed to power line adaptors that cause harmful interference.
