Origins of the Handie Talkie

Earlier this month, we told you about a great website article titled 'Early development of Radio - 600 BC to the early 1920's'.

Now the author of that article, Greg Whiter, VK3CA, has produced another excellent and informative article.

The humble Handie-Talkie, which most of us have come to accept as being an integral part of our amateur radio inventory today, celebrates its 69th birthday during 2009.

In a well-illustrated article called 'The Origins of the Handie Talkie', Greg charts the history of the handie-talkie - a story which has its beginnings on the battlefields of World War II.
